But it isn't quite in sync - about five frames out. And the clip runs fine in Xpress Pro, all the way through. First I imported the 8 KB file: it seemed to gather up the sound file so the import worked fine. I then imported the two versions into Xpress Pro. I had a good look at the imnage quality on the large (1,026 KB) file and the smaller (182 KB) file using QT, and at least on my computer monitor they looked the same. I changed the output Codec in Cinematize to " DVCPRO-PAL" and saved as "self contained, files with all data" and Cinematize produced a single 182 KB MOV file that ran perfectly. Miraizon cinematize alternative full#The output Codec I used was " Full Quality 4:2:2 Uncompressed" saved as "normal files with dependencies." When I tried again, the same thing happened - but the image froze at a slightly different spot in the clip. The large MOV file had no sound, but when I ran the smaller MOV file in QuickTime the image continued for just a few moments and then froze, while the sound continued to run. When I converted the first "chapter" from my DVD, Cinematize 2 produced three separate files: an 8 KB MOV file, a 10 KB WAV file (described as Audio) and a 1,026 KB MOV file (described as Video). I found it much more intuitive than the free software. ) I paid my $59 and purchased Cinematize 2 - the basic edition. Eager, however, to dash along ( I know, I know. I'm sure as I become more experienced it will be fine. I downloaded the free MPEG Streamclip, but I found it a bit gnarly to use. If the answer is "yes," any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Is it possible to import clips from a finalised DVD-R, or should I have used one of the other formats? Back to the manual, the help file, etc., but I am going around in circles. Miraizon cinematize alternative pro#When I opened a New Project in Xpress Pro and tried to follow the instructions to "import." But my import button was grey and non-selectable. VOB file is the largest in all cases, so I am assuming that this is the actual clip and assuming the others are files for the DVD menu. But I can't find a way to import the various clips into Xpress Pro. My DVD-R disc, finalized, will play in another DVD player (I've tested it), and it will play just fine on my computer. The Panasonic will also handle DVD-RAM, DVD+R, and DVD-RW. ![]() I used the DVD-R format, and then finalized the disc. Since I can't connect my computer (with the Avid XPress Pro software) to the Panasonic, I've copied the recordings from the Panasonic hard drive to a DVD. ![]() I copied them a while ago - using the Panasonic - from the VHS tapes to the hard drive. I have some old VHS tapes from a long-departed camcorder. The instruction book says "The DVD recorder cannot be controlled by the connected DV unit.
